INTIMATE INTERIORS
Paint Spaces Full of Mood, Memory, and Meaning
This course gives you the framework I wish I'd had earlier - a way to paint the spaces around you that feels honest, not imitated. Expect hands-on demos, focused exercises, and a process you can actually make your own.
Enrollment ends March 17, 2026
Painting spaces is a meditative practice.
One of appreciation, presence, and storytelling. Whether you include figures, animals, or let the room speak for itself, an interior painting is never just a room. It is a world with its own atmosphere, its own emotional weather.
This course is about learning to see SPACES as an artist.
To notice the ray of light falling across a corner, the flowing forms of clothes left on the floor, the quiet drama of ordinary objects in a sunlit room. It is about finding beauty in the mundane - through light, mood, and your own imagination - and learning to translate that feeling into paint.
I have spent years developing my approach to intimate interiors.
In this course I am sharing everything: the way I observe a space before I ever pick up a brush, how I build atmosphere from the first mark, and the framework I return to every single time I paint - no matter the subject.
Over 6 weeks, you will:
Work through focused exercises and lessons designed to develop your eye and your instincts
Watch me paint three complete demos from first mark to finished painting, with nothing held back
Leave with a structured process that belongs to you - one you can carry into your studio for the rest of your life
This is not about painting rooms that look like mine.
It is about finding your own way of seeing, and learning to trust what you find there.

SPACES
The domestic interior has been one of the most emotionally charged subjects in the history of painting. Bonnard, Hopper, Vuillard, Matisse - they understood that a room is never just a room. It holds secrets, stories, light that shifts by the hour, the invisible weight of the people who pass through it.
That tradition is very much alive today. Contemporary artists like Njideka Akunyili Crosby, David Hockney, and Anna Valdez are among the most celebrated painters working today - and all of them return, again and again, to the spaces we inhabit. There is a reason for that.
Painting interiors invites you to slow down, look closer, and develop a point of view. The subject is endlessly available - your home, a friend's kitchen, a hotel room, cafe around the corner, a studio corner - and endlessly rich. There is always another story to find in the light.
